Syncfusion is very excited to announce that the March 2020 release updates for Bold Reports v2.2.23 are out now with new support and features. This blog provides an overview of the latest updates. We hope to reveal a couple surprises along the way!
Gauge Support
Support for radial and linear gauges as report items has been provided to help you visualize progress toward a goal. These widgets will help you find the current state of your data, display complex KPIs, or just enhance existing reports with advanced gauges.

Radial gauge
Integrate a radial gauge into table or matrix data regions to show progress toward a goal. Express your data’s current state and display its values in a circular format. By default, the gauge’s scale forms a complete 360-degree circle with the radial style, but you can also select a half-circle style or auto style. The auto style is used to provide customized start and sweep angles.
We have also included four marker types that can be enabled as needed: circle, rectangle, diamond, and triangle. The radial gauge has a pointer that pivots around a central point. You can choose a needle, marker, or bar pointer. The needle pointer is the only pointer type with a cap, which you can display or hide.

Linear gauge
The linear gauge can be placed inside the tablix and matrix report items to measure values on a linear scale. Choose from horizontal and vertical linear gauge types. You can assign the maximum and minimum range values for the gauge by using expressions.
The same four marker types are built into the linear gauge report items as the radial: circle, rectangle, diamond, and triangle. You can also customize the major and minor tick intervals, colors, lengths, and widths using the MajorTick and MinorTick properties

Report Server
Connect to PostgreSQL server
Configure the Bold Reports application to connect to a PostgreSQL database. Previously, we had to use SQL Server. Now, we have enabled the PostgreSQL server instance so you can choose the meta database for the Bold Reports application.

Customize scheduled email content
Customize your email content and schedules using Report Server. Create customized content for your scheduled reports and add your unique signature.

Turn scheduled email notifications on or off
Notify your users only as needed by turning your scheduled emails on or off. With the report schedule notification toggles, you can restrict scheduled report emails from the user level up to the admin level.

Localization support to switch between multiple languages
Localize your design to another supported language, culture, or location. Language support for German has been added to the Report Server. Change the app to use your own native language or local requirements.

Copy report to another tenant
Need to copy a report to another tenant? Don’t worry about creating the data model. It’s already created for you. Create a report once and transfer it across tenants. Just drag your report to Tenant and click Copy.

Report Designer
Simplify the design experience with context menu support
Add report items in one click with a new context menu in the design area. Insert report items directly into the designer page.
Highlights of the context menu include:
- Insert and remove an item with a single click.
- Simplify clipboard actions (cut, copy, paste, and delete).
- Enable or remove header and footer.

SQL loading performance optimized in Query Designer
We have optimized the overall schema and query loading performance of the SQL Query Designer. Now the schema data is fetched on demand based on user actions, making it five times faster than before.

Report Writer
Export paginated reports in XML format
In Report Writer, you can now export your report into XML format, making it easy to create and use reports over the internet. The generated document contains data only and can be imported into a database, used as a data message, or sent to an application. Expressing your data in a universal character encoding standard makes working with it easier.

Report Viewer
Support for custom code
Customized code support is enabled for the Report Viewer on the ASP.NET Core platform. Merge Visual Basic code with your custom code. You can create a custom code class file for your report and use it by adding the appropriate namespaces and assemblies.

Report Designer
SQL Query Designer support
We have provided full-fledged SQL Query Designer support for the ASP.NET Core platform to help users query their data by dragging it into tables on the Query Designer surface. There’s no need to code or know any SQL.
