The reports available in or uploaded to the Cloud Report Server are viewable through a built-in HTML5 Report Viewer in the browser when you select a report. It supports viewing the reports with RDL reporting functionalities such as report parameters, shared data source, shared dataset, drill through, drill down, hyperlink, expressions, filtering, sorting, grouping, and more. The Cloud Report Server efficiently organizes reports, data sources, data sets, files, and schedules into categories. This enables you to perform operations like pass filters to a report, download, share, set permissions, process reports, and update cache settings. Permissions to view, edit, and delete items can be given to specific users or groups.
Manage users and groups
Allow users to create reports with SQL RDL reporting’s extremely powerful interactive features, such as drill through and hyperlink, to view detailed displays of your data.
Add, edit, activate, deactivate, delete, and assign users to groups. You can add individual or bulk users by importing users from the following sources:
- Active Directory
- Existing Databases
- Azure Active Directory
A group is a collection of users to whom permissions can be assigned. Add, edit, or delete groups, or bulk update by importing groups from Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
The Cloud Report Server uses role assignments to help control access to published reports. A flexible permission scheme controls access to reading, writing, and deleting reports. Each role consists of a set of related tasks that grant access to the following operations: view report, add report, update report, delete report, schedule report, add/delete data source, add/delete data set, and more.
Schedule and distribute your reports according to a recurring interval (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly). Our scheduling functionality is very flexible and offers several custom options.
Schedule with parameters
Set the default values of your report parameters to vary report presentations and control report data.
Users can schedule a report with compression settings to send the document as an email attachment.
Enables users to password protect scheduled reports with default or custom passwords.
Subscriber and custom file formats
Users can specify the custom subscribers (users or groups) and file formats such as PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, PowerPoint, and HTML.
Reports hosted in the Cloud Report Server are easily integrated into third-party applications.
Apply filters and save modified versions of reports for future reference.
Access the current version of a report with its URL. You can also use URLs to share or comment on reports.
The Cloud Report Server comes with standard username, password, and Azure authentication mechanisms. It allows you to authenticate users against an existing Azure Active Directory with single sign-on.
All items stored on the Cloud Report Server are versioned. This enables users to safely create and modify any item as the Cloud Report Server maintains historical revisions made to individual items. It is possible to easily revert to more stable versions of each item.
Manage reports, schedules, data sources, files, users, groups, permissions, and export reports in the Cloud Report Server programmatically from any application.
All traffic is secure
All traffic is secured using Transport Layer Security protocol (TLS 1.2). You can rest assured that your data is safe.
