What you can do with interactive reports
An action property is available to set the drillthrough report path. This allows end users to click on a data value in the report to view related data in a child report. A separate child report can have detail or summary data. Also, users can add parameters to filter data based on their selection.
Drill-down reports or toggle items
The toggle option lets users create and view sections of a report by expanding and collapsing it at runtime. Show or hide static rows and columns that are associated with groups in a table or matrix (pivot table). You can use the subreport or nested data region report items to show detailed records.
Property options are included for setting hyperlink actions for text boxes, images, charts, and tables. Hyperlinks can contain data fields, plus static or dynamic URL value expressions.
Bookmarks or anchors
Create and link bookmarks in RDL reports using the Bookmark property. It allows users to navigate to different parts of the RDL report when previewing and also in the exported documents. Add and link bookmarks to textboxes, images, tables or charts, or to unique group values displayed in a tablix. The value of bookmark property can be custom strings or an expression.
Specify a text, data fields, or any other expression that evaluates to a label in the DocumentMap property. The map displays a separate side pane or table of contents (TOC) in a hierarchical structure when viewing a report. Clicking a link in the document map jumps to the respective report page. It provides a convenient way to navigate lengthy reports.
You can specify sorting parameters for group rows and detail rows, or combine fields into a single group expression. Table report items are displayed with sort icons in a column header or group header cell, enabling users to sort or reverse the sort order of a column.
Nested data regions
Create and visualize reports with nested data regions by placing charts, maps, gauges, and indicators inside another data region to display detailed data and information.
