In the ever-evolving software industry, continuous improvement drives success. BrainTree was using SAP Crystal Reports for its legacy products, which had a very limited scope from development platform to deployment for their cloud-based ERP solution, so they began looking for a better alternative. The only problem—the team had to find a tool that could be easily deployed and allowed them to effortlessly migrate thousands of reports. After some online research, they felt confident that Bold Reports was the answer.
Solution
Using Bold Reports, BrainTree now produces advanced ERP reports with minimal coding. According to Director of Technology Milind Awade, “We moved from Crystal Reports to Bold Reports due to its user friendliness, ease of connectivity with other databases, and the print formats that can be generated and designed right on the interface—without having to write much of the HTML or CSS code.”
Milind’s team appreciated that Bold Reports’ user interface is similar to their previous platform’s, as it lessened their learning curve. “[It was a challenge to] migrate from Crystal Reports to any other web technology, as we had more than 4,000 reports and formats collectively,” Milind said. “Bold Reports resembles the interface of Crystal Reports, so our product and business analysts can easily design reports with their SQL experience.”
However, Milind primarily accredits their smooth transition to Bold Reports’ dedicated support team. “The key [reason] we trusted and migrated to this tool was its customer support,” Milind said. “They have resolved all our requests and helped us overcome the initial hiccups [we faced] while moving to the tool.”
